There's something magical about turning 30. It's like a twinkly fire inside of you is finally ignited and this glowing confident woman is unleashed. This beautiful "fuck it" attitude is born and there is nothing more liberating.
Today I turn 30! And girl, I am embracing every second of it.
Today I'll be sharing 30 life lessons I've learned and fun facts about myself.
Happy birthday to me! ๐ ๐๐๐ธ
Happy birthday to me! ๐ ๐๐๐ธ
- We're moving! Again! LOL This Summer and back to the USA. I'm so excited. I'll share more details soon.
- I've embraced my introvert-ness more than ever this past year. I never really understood what it truly meant to be an introvert. The difference between being an extrovert vs. a introvert isn't how you act in a group setting. It's whether or not those group settings fuel you or drain you. I often times can appear to be an extrovert, but it all comes down to how these interactions affect you internally. And boy do they drain me. I usually need a whole day to fully recharge.
- I'm a HUGE horror movie fan. The scarier the better.
- I've always been the type of person that worried about other peoples feelings before my own. I would stress myself out and sacrifice my own happiness just to please others. Not so much anymore.
- I still have the receipt Angel wrote his number on the back of when we first met.
- One year on my birthday my mom rented me a limo to take me and my girlfriends shopping. I think I was 13. She even made sure the limo company gave as a super handsome driver.
- I don't know how to parallel park.
- Beauty rules to live by: ALWAYS wash my face before bed, moisturize daily, and start to incorporate anti-aging/wrinkle creams in your regimen in your early 20s.
- I'm obsessed with candles. I buy them in bulk when ever they are on sale and I even make my own! It's my favorite DIY. My favorite scent is Champagne Pop by Bath and Body Works.
- I didn't wear makeup until college. I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until I was 16. Even after I was allowed to, I never had the urge to until about 18-19.
- I've learned over the years that its ok to say no. Even to the people who you care for the most. If they truly love you, they will understand.
- Your first love should be with yourself.
- I have a cute little garden. We grow basil, tomatoes, eggplant, lettuce, mint, aloe vera, peppers, thyme, parsley, chives, and even a few flowers.
- I try to incorporate 1-2 vegetarian dinners weekly.
- Everyday, try and do something that is just for you.
- I LOVE rewatching movies and shows over and over and over again. My faves to rewatch are Vampire Diaries, Friends, and Harry Potter.
- I make the best Puerto Rican, grandma style, chicken soup. My mother in law taught me.
- I'm always down to eat.
- I'm fascinated by burlesque. Tonight my husband and I are going to Daune Park for dinner.
- The 1st time I saw the movie The Notebook, I didn't cry once. I pretty much yelled at the screen the whole time. The 2nd time I saw it was in my room on DVD and I literally cried from beginning to end.
- I don't know how to swim.
- In 2015 I joined my first CrossFit gym and it kinda changed my life. I was so nervous and out of shape when I first joined. It was amazing how quickly my body changed and how much stronger I became. I was doing things in that gym that I never thought I would be able to do. It made me realize that there were so many other things in life I was afraid to do, so I stopped being afraid and just did them. Still working on that swimming and parking thing though.
- When I was in the 5th grade I pretended to be a witch. I desperately wanted magic powers.
- I am the pizza quuuuuueen! I learned how to make my own pizza dough last year and now I make a pizza almost every week.
- My pajama game is seriously lacking. I still wear old pjs. Holes and all.
- I never learned how to write in cursive in school and I blame that on my horrible signature.
- I can not be in real clothes when I'm home. I change into pjs as soon as I get in.
- I love gin and champagne.
- This year I'm hoping to start making videos. Youtube here I come! Maybe.
- My goal is life is to do what makes me happy, always. Life is too short and people are going to talk sh** no matter what.
